Move Videos

Technical Specs:

  • Dimensions: 1920x1080px (16:9 "landscape")
  • Format: MOV, MP4, AVCHD
  • FPS: 60+
  • Quality: 1080p+
  • Notes: Turning an iPhone on its side is perfect for this. If filming on a phone, make sure to check your FPS and quality settings. If filming on a standalone camera, make sure to check your aspect ratio—many cameras natively film in 3:2 rather than 16:9.

How to perform a move:

  • Use the most basic entry possible.
  • If a move can be entered from the ground, opt to show it that way rather than aerially.
  • Videos should start and end with the performer in a controlled, grounded position.
  • Perform the focal move without pausing in any interim positions (e.g. don't stop and pose in Genie while performing a Martini Sit).
  • To respect the identity of others, make sure no other individuals are in the background of your video.
  • Make sure that there isn't any other movement in the background of your video that distracts from the move.
  • (Preferred) Center the pole in the video frame.

Combo Videos

Technical Specs:

  • Dimensions: 1080x1920 - 9:16 ("portrait")
  • Format: MOV, MP4, AVCHD
  • FPS: 30+
  • Quality: 1080p+
  • Notes: iPhone's natural portrait-oriented videos are perfect for this. If filming on a phone, make sure to check your FPS and quality settings. If filming on a standalone camera, make sure to check your aspect ratio—many cameras natively film in 3:2 rather than 9:16.

How to perform a combo:

  • However you want!
  • Preferably you should start and end in a controlled, grounded position, but anything goes!
  • To respect the privacy of others, make sure no other individuals are in the background of your video.
